Insulation

Building fabric insulation improves the efficiency of the building, reduces carbon output and expands the lifetime of boiler systems. Generally insulation costs are low in comparison with energy savings, and have a short pay-back period.

Approximately 30% of produced heat escapes through the roof, floor, walls, windows and doors of buildings.

Cavity wall insulation

When moist air hits a colder surface, beads of condensation are formed which will cause damp problems. After remedial insulation, the interior wall is dried, will be warmer and retains heat more efficiently.

Solid wall insulation

Solid walls let through twice as much warm air as cavity walls. The good news is that these walls can be insulated too - either internally or externally.

Loft insulation

Heat rises and a vast amount of energy is lost through the roof. Insulating this area is a simple and effective way to reduce heating bills.

Procurement

Energy procurement services can help identify the ideal energy buying strategy for a business.

An extensive comparison of usage with different supplier options can provide strong levels of energy and cost savings.

Services are wide-ranging and flexible, from a full energy procurement service to invoice validation. We can offer a service for every company, regardless of size and usage.

Lighting

Companies can help reduce the carbon footprint of buildings by installing LED lighting in place of existing light fittings. LED Lights have an immediate light output (unlike some other energy saving bulbs) and are dimmable without flicker.

Bulb replacement

An LED bulb replacement will decrease energy bills. LEDs use up to 90% less energy than incandescent or halogen bulbs.

PIR sensors

PIR's detect the infrared heat that emitted naturally by humans. Installing these sensors alongside with LED fittings are the most efficient way of improving the lighting system. The sensors can be tailored and optimised to suit your building and operation processes to achieve maximum energy saving potential.

Renewables

By generating its own electricity rather than being supplied from the grid, Solar panel electricity systems offer a significant long-term benefit to buildings.

The Panels work when sunlight shines on the cell it creates an electric field across the layers. The power of a cell is measured in kilowatt peak (kWp).

A 4kWp system can generate around 3,800 kilowatt hours of electricity a year – roughly equivalent to a typical household's electricity needs.

Solar PV is eligible for Feed-in Tariffs and you will earn a tariff for each kWh of electricity generated by your system and for each kWh of electricity you export back to the grid.

Heating

Replacing inefficient boilers with higher efficiency modern boilers will gain savings from a more energy efficient heating system.

Ventilation

Companies should ensure that ventilation is in a decent condition to protect a building against damp and condensation. Ventilation accounts for approximately 30% of heat loss in most commercial buildings and can be prevented with:

  • High efficiency motors

  • Variable speed fans

  • Optimising time settings

Air Conditioning

Air Conditioning systems use a significant amount of energy, but are necessary to regulate office temperatures.

There are some simple and low cost ways towards a more sustainable environment, which include effective use of temperature controls and air circulation fans.

Boiler Room Assessment

Through the assessment we identify which measures could be put in place to reduce fuel costs and increase system efficiency. Designed with older boiler rooms or those which are likely to have an upgrade in the near future in mind, we’ll provide a full report of recommendations to meet your specific requirements, and the appropriate options to fulfil them.

We assess aspects such as the boiler’s performance, current controls and the typical properties within the building and boiler room, to provide an initial survey. Thanks to our industry expertise, we provide a review of options that help to both improve system efficiency and reduce fuel wastage.

  • Full report and survey of performance

  • Review of options and recommendations

  • Full project management of the installation

  • Ideal for older boiler rooms

Boiler Optimisation

Smart Controls provide a reduction to your boiler’s fuel consumption by making small reductions to its operating temperature. This is done with almost no noticeable impact on comfort.

The controls will ensure your boiler works at optimum efficiency, and provide real-time information for an accurate firing cycle.

  • Compatible with most boiler systems

  • No maintenance required once installed

  • Installation is quick and non-intrusive

  • Full project management of the installation

  • Energy savings shown on an easy-to-read display

Valve Jackets

Fitting bespoke, easily removable jackets to the flange and valve metalwork within your boiler room has the capability to reduce heat loss and therefore, save you energy and money. Our case studies have proven that you can achieve a remarkable saving with a rapid payback on investment through the implementation of insulation jackets.

Each un-insulated valve is wasting fuel, so installing insulation jackets will reduce this.

  • Lower energy costs

  • Installation is quick and non-invasive

  • Full project management of the installation

  • Jackets should last the life-time of the plant

  • Routine checks to ensure quality control

Building Optimisation

Our specialist experts will help you manage your building in the best way with an individually tailored service package. This ensures you’ll receive the optimum solution.

We analyse your buildings performance on a continuous basis, supporting you through any implemented changes to your building. This is done by monitoring the buildings data using a secure connection from unobtrusive sensors that we install.

Generally, through a consultancy day, the settings on energy appliance controls can be optimised to save considerable costs and energy usage. This low cost method of significantly reducing energy consumption is best done through regular technician visits, which can be arranged on an ongoing basis where necessary. Our consultants usually carry out a 6 monthly visit to ensure the settings are correct, to ensure understanding of the clients’ needs if they have developed, and ensure ongoing monitoring.

Our process is to start with a meeting to understand your business and building usage. We will then assess boilers, heaters, Air Handling Units, fan coils, etc to see how they are programmed to fit with the usage. In simplest terms if a setting is found to be too high it can then be lowered or alternatively energy generation can be more micro focussed to periods as it is required.

There are energy control systems available for more complex requirements. Our consultancy process can assist in choosing the right system for your buildings systems.
