Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting - SECR

SECR came into action April 2019, requiring affected companies to report their annual emissions and an intensity ratio in their Directors’ Report section of their annual company accounts filed at Companies House
Qualification dates coincide with financial years - that is, if the company financial year ends on the 1st November 2021 they won’t need to comply until 1st November 2022.
Who does SECR apply to?
To qualify, companies must hit 2 of the 3 below criteria:
Qualification Criteria are:
-
250 Employees or more
-
Balance Sheet 18M or more
-
Turnover 36M or more
SECR is independant of other schemes and compliances that your company may be involved with. It is also different to the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS), and as such, it is worth checking whther your organisation qualkifies for SECR even if it does not meet the quakification cretieria for ESOS. It is also worth noting that unlike ESOS, it is a desktop exercixe and does not require site work.
The legislation affects:
-
Quoted companies;
-
Large and medium unquoted companies;
-
Large Limited Liability Partnerships (LLP)
We can plan SECR along your ESOS requirements. For further information on how we can assit, or for a quote, get in touch using our contact form below.
